gentle reader, do you see a new trend here? i kinda like it. honestly, i don't know if i will do this for every post, if i will do this once in a while or if i might not ever do this again...for now, i like it!
i like starting off the blog post with a little quote meme...i find motivational and inspirational quote memes to be, well, motivational and inspirational!
as the girl grew into her own person, i saw more and more how important this really is. how hard it is for our kids to make it through school and not cave into the peer pressure. and face it, not every kid makes it out without caving.
it's so much easier to do what everyone else is doing and be accepted. but to stand alone and not fall into the pitfalls of smoking cigarrettes, drinking alcohol, doing drugs and having sex willy nilly...
i have watched how hard it was [ and still is ] for the girl...i have seen her circle of friends expand and contract, based on her decision to not drink, have sex, not party...
i have seen this within my own peer group. it seems that if you aren't doing what everyone else is doing, you suck. you're a weirdo. you don't belong.
honestly, i see absolutely nothing wrong with doing your own things...as long as it's moral, ethical and legal!
i enjoy walking to the beat of my own drum and to hell with everyone else.
my wish for you, gentle reader, is that you have the strength to do this yourself. that you have the strength to teach the same to your children. that you have the strength to actually allow your children to march to the beat of their drum...without judgement from you!
this photo was taken at the miami airport on our way to the republica dominica. i recently saw it posted on facebook and had to snag it and post here. i love this photo. i love how these guys sat here, immersing themselves in pure chiropractic while we were waiting to board our plane. the quote is from kiroman's presentation in the dr...i have heard that quote being bantered about ever since he spoke it!
ahhhh, today was the day. the day we picked up the snow mobile! ya, i know it was 81* here in kiroland today! what better time to get prepapred to bring on the snow, though! kiroman is getting a lesson on how to change the belt...we should never had reason to do so but it's better to be prepared than to be stuck somewhere with a broken belt and have to walk home! man, snowmobiles sure have changed in the last 7 years! it's been awhile, but i am really looking forward to flying through fresh powder!
as we pulled into magic lake, we noticed that someone actually had their jet ski on the water this afternoon...and why not??? the temp was awesome. pretty blue skies! i bet the lake temp wasn't too bad! i wish i had snapped a photo! it would have been funny to have a photo of a jet ski on the lake and kiroman doing this:
oh jeez...a necessary evil. if you have ever spent any time driving country roads, then you know exactly of what i speak. a combine goes approximately 3.8 mph at maximum speed...and this guy would not pull over or stop to let us pass him...as a matter of fact, he stayed right in the middle of the road as he came to hills...i was praying that no one would come over the hill at 50mph [ the posted speed but you know no one ever goes the posted speed on country roads ]. i was so happy to get to the highway and away from this accident waiting to happen!
fun pic of the day! the girl texted this to me...i didn't get the whole story but the part i got was that she was trying to roll the boy up in the window but he was able to stop by holding the window button. crises averted!
i couldn't resist snapping a screen cap of the weather! today was awesome and tomorrow really should be pretty awesome, too...rain for only in the morning! and sunday will be a perfect pumpkin patch day...vala's here we come! i can't wait!
and this is how i ended my evening...i'm tucking kiroman into bed...sister, brother and cujo are going to stay with him...however, hell hound decides to join the fun...this is the first time he has attempted to get on the bed and he thought he belonged there like king james or something...wrong answer, pal! we quickly removed him...well, after i snapped a few photos so i would have at least one good one to blog!
i am grateful:
- i did not have to drive one single mile today
- to have spent the day with kiroman
- to fill up the freezer once again with grass fed beef
- for roll over dinners!
- for dropbox
just breathing isn't living!
